It's that time of year when the nights grow darker and the weather gets colder - but TV definitely heats up. The BBC is renowned for making incredible dramas, from the gritty Halifax police series Happy Valley, starring award-winning actress Sarah Lancashire, to the Poplar period medical drama Call the Midwife, written by the brilliant Heidi Thomas. However, not every show created by the Beeb should be renewed or kept on BBC iPlayer for long, as some have been complete let-downs. Here are the top five BBC shows that need to be axed, according to viewers.

The show stars such as Rufus Sewell and Kaya Scodelario, but even those names couldn't seem to save the adaptation. One fan said on Google Reviews: "I just don't understand the series. The book is great, any Agatha Christie is great. So changing it? Ruins it."

Inside Man looked as though it would be another stellar performance from David, but viewers have branded it a "nonsensical rollercoaster." The series follows the twisted tale of a prisoner on death row, played by Stanley Tucci, seeking atonement and a sweet vicar, played by David.
Their stories run alongside each other, but viewers online have slated it, with one saying on Google Reviews: "It's hard to explain how bad this is. We watched it and persisted despite realising that it had no redemption possible, only because of Tennant and Tucci."

The show first aired in 2023 and stars Michael Socha, Stevie Binns and Samuel Edward-Cook.
