A brand new Agatha Christie adaptation has been announced starring two Hollywood legends - and fans can't wait. Detective Hercule Poirot is back, played by Game of Thrones icon Peter Dinklage, with Yesterday star Himesh Patel reprising his role as Captain Hastings for a new Audible adaptation - The ABC Murders.
Also joining the new podcast adaptation are Joel Fry, Sam Claflin and Lydia West. With a score composed by Emma star Johnny Flynn and Joe Zeitlin. After the success of Audible's adaptation of The Mysterious Affair at Styles, the cast return for a tense mystery when Poirot receives a letter warning him that a murder is about to be committed by its writer.
In a race against time to decipher the killer's twisted clues, a series of alphabetical murders starting with Alice Ascher and Betty Barnard throw the detectives into the most terrifying case of their careers.
But can they put a stop to the murders and unmask the killer before another innocent life is taken?
Reviews for the first instalment of the podcast series were overwhelmingly positive, with one fan praising it: "I really enjoyed it. I was very pleasantly surprised by Dinklage and I liked Himesh's portrayal of Hastings as a more capable man who's suffering from shellshock than the sort of Bertie Wooster but blander Hastings is often played as."
Someone else agreed: "Overall enjoyed it, though at times I found Poirot more aggressive towards Hastings than I imagined when reading it. Hope they do more!"
"I thought the adaptation was good, the direction was great (Alice Lowe is a great director of films, this is the first radio I've known of her directing) and Johnny Flynn's music was also great," another fan echoed on Reddit.
