How about a beautiful display of Daffodil flowers in springtime, those delightful yellow trumpets cheering up our days? Well, there is still time to plant Daffodil bulbs in your pots, beds and borders.
A lovely pot of Daffodils placed in a sunny spot in your garden, ready to bloom in springtime. Take a handful of Daffodil bulbs and plant them in a free draining soil about three times the depth of the bulbs. A pot with holes at the base, so to be free draining, and using a good quality potting compost is all that is needed for the Daffodil bulbs to take root and flower next springtime.
Put a base layer of compost into the pot, plant the bulbs in roots end downwards and the tips facing upwards, then cover with compost before placing into a sheltered spot.
Don't worry about watering the bulbs as this will be done by Mother Nature's rainfall.
The Daffodil bulbs are hardy so will be happy to sit in the cold over wintertime. In late winter place the pot in a sunny spot ready for a lovely uplifting flower display.
A lovely simple pot to give weeks of springtime floral colour.
