Grammy-winning producer Sidney Brown, who is better known as Omen, has died at the age of 49. Brown, who worked with huge superstars including Beyoncé, Drake, and Lil Wayne, was found in his Harlem apartment.
His devastated mother, Martha Brown, told TMZ that a relative discovered him on Saturday, September 13, after co-workers raised concerns when he missed his shift. The exact date and cause of death have not been released.
Barawine Harlem, the Manhattan wine bar where Brown worked for more than a decade, honoured him on Instagram.
The tear-jerking tribute read: "It is with shock and deep sadness we have heard about the passing of our dear friend Omen Sidney Brown. Omen was part of Barawine's team for over a decade bringing his unique talent to all.

"There are not enough words to express our feelings. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family, his friends and all who love him."
Ethyl’s Bar & Restaurant in New York City, where Brown often DJed, paid tribute on Instagram: "Tonight we learned of the passing of our longtime DJ, a Friend and Ethyl's Family Member Omen.
"We are beyond. Omen has been a major part of what made Ethyl's beat from the very beginning."
The post went on to praise his artistry as it read: "Sidney ‘Omen’ Brown was not only a DJ who could get our dance floor jumping, but he was also a Grammy Award Winning Producer who worked with Beyoncé, Lil’ Wayne and please take a minute to listen to the song attached ‘Tell It Like It Is’ which Omen helped write and produce for Ludacris."

The poignant tribute concluded, saying Omen will be "missed by us all."
The Grammy-winning producer whose beats fueled hits for hip-hop and R&B heavyweights, also collaborated with names like Action Bronson, Fabolous, Memphis Bleek, and Redman, and established himself as a powerhouse.
A Harlem native, Brown first made his mark in the late ’90s and early 2000s with credits for Mýa, Fabolous, and Roc-A-Fella artists.
His big break came in 2006 producing Ludacris’ Tell It Like It Is, part of a Grammy-winning album.
He later co-produced Drake’s Shut It Down on Thank Me Later (2010) and Beyoncé’s Mine featuring Drake (2013), cementing his place among music’s elite.
