Actor Shilpa Shetty was questioned for four and half hours by the officials of Economic Offences Wing ( EOW) on Monday in an alleged 60 crore cheating case.
EOW said that statements of five people, including Shilpa Shetty's husband d Raj Kundra, have been recorded so far.
Kundra's statement was recorded on September 15 for more than five hours. To keep the process away from media attention, his statement was taken at a confidential location.
The Rs 60 crore cheating case has been registered in Mumbai against Shetty and Kundra. Businessman Deepak Kothari, 60, a director at the non-banking financial company Lotus Capital Finance Service, has accused the couple and otjer individuals of cheating him out of Rs 60.4 crore through a loan-cum-investment agreement involving their now-defunct firm, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.
In September, police had issued Lookout Circulars (LOCs) against both Shetty and Kundra. Authorities use an LOC to prevent someone from fleeing the country or to monitor their movements, alerting immigration and border officials to be on the lookout for the individual.
